Connected perfumery

Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.

With

Maxime Garcia-Janin

Founder, Sillages Paris

At 27, after a stint in marketing at Dior and Armani, Maxime Garcia-Janin noticed a growing disenchantment with perfume among customers, particularly millennials, so the man the press dubbed the "Crazy Kid of perfumery" decided to launch his own brand in 2017. Sillages Paris is the first Haute Parfumerie house to be personalized, accessible and online. Simply indicate your tastes on the house's website, and the perfumers will find your signature scent, among a multitude of atypical formulas. Handcrafted in Paris and delivered to the customer free of charge, each fragrance is exchangeable and refundable. In just a few years, thanks to artificial intelligence, e-commerce and Instagram, thousands of customers have found their Sillage on the house's website.Faced with this success, the L'Oréal group became a minority shareholder in Sillages Paris, barely 1 year after its launch, enabling the house to accelerate its development while retaining its independence.

and

Nisrine Bouazzaoui Grillié

Perfumer, Sillages Paris

Nisrine grew up in Morocco, surrounded by a world of scents that she likes to describe as a universe where the sweetness of orange blossom mingles with the scents of leather and cedar, as well as her mother's spicy cuisine. Gifted with refined olfactory knowledge, a great curiosity and a passion for science and the arts, she prefers to work as a perfumer and perfumier.to the perfumery profession, comparing the creation of a perfume to the writing of a story. Inspired by music, she sees each musical composition as a perfume in itself.
